A violent attack on a 50-year-old man in Greater Noida has triggered concern after armed attackers allegedly entered his house and brutally assaulted him over an old rivalry. The incident took place in Maycha village under the Dadri police station area, where the accused reportedly attacked Subhash Chaprana with sticks and iron rods, leaving him seriously injured.
According to police, the attackers also opened fire during the incident to create panic and vandalized a WagonR car parked outside the house. Following the complaint filed by the victim’s family, police arrested three accused, including the main suspect Monty alias Kavindra Gurjar, while efforts are underway to trace other absconding suspects.
Attack Linked to Old Rivalry
The victim’s son Kapil Chaprana informed police that the incident occurred on the night of May 17 when his father was present at their residence in Maycha village. According to the complaint, neighbors Monty, Sandeep, and several associates forcibly entered the house and launched the attack.
The accused allegedly abused and threatened the elderly man before attacking him repeatedly with sticks and iron rods. Family members claimed the assault was the result of an ongoing personal dispute between both sides that had been escalating for some time.
Witnesses stated that the attackers showed no restraint during the assault and continued beating the victim despite his attempts to defend himself.
Firing Created Panic in the Area
According to the family, one of the attackers placed a pistol near Subhash Chaprana’s temple and fired. Fortunately, the bullet missed him and struck the WagonR vehicle parked outside the house.
The sound of gunfire created panic in the neighborhood, drawing the attention of nearby residents. The accused then vandalized the car using sticks and rods, damaging its windows and body before fleeing the scene.
Family members also alleged that the attackers damaged CCTV wires and took away mobile phones in an attempt to destroy evidence related to the incident. Police teams are now examining nearby surveillance footage as part of the investigation.
Victim Undergoing Treatment for Serious Injuries
Subhash Chaprana was immediately shifted to a hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment. Doctors confirmed that he sustained serious injuries, including fractures in his hands and legs, along with multiple deep wounds on his body.
The incident has reportedly created fear among residents of the village, with locals demanding strict action against those involved. Residents have also appealed for stronger police patrolling and improved security in the area.
Police officials said the victim’s medical examination report has been included in the investigation and all evidence related to the attack is being thoroughly examined.
Police Arrest Three Accused
Dadri police registered a case based on the complaint filed by Kapil Chaprana and launched an immediate investigation. Three accused, including the main suspect Monty alias Kavindra Gurjar, have been arrested in connection with the attack.
Police also recovered a .32 bore pistol from the possession of the main accused. Officials stated that additional suspects involved in the incident have already been identified and raids are being conducted to arrest them.
Authorities confirmed that serious charges including attempted murder, unlawful entry, firing, and property damage have been invoked against the accused. Police assured that all remaining suspects would be apprehended soon as the investigation progresses.
