The District Nutrition Committee in Gautam Buddh Nagar conducted a detailed review meeting focusing on the progress of the nutrition tracker system, maternity welfare schemes, and the development of Anganwadi centres across the district. The meeting was held at the Vikas Bhavan auditorium under the chairmanship of ADM Judicial Priyanka and was attended by district-level officers and committee members.

The primary objective of the meeting was to assess the implementation of nutrition and maternal healthcare initiatives while ensuring better delivery of services for children and pregnant women in the district.

Nutrition Tracker Records 97.64 Percent Measurement Progress

During the meeting, the District Programme Officer informed the committee that regular monitoring of nutrition distribution and child growth measurement is being carried out at all Anganwadi centres through the nutrition tracker system. The district has achieved 97.64 percent progress in the measurement process, reflecting significant advancement in monitoring child health indicators.

Officials were instructed to ensure that the remaining beneficiaries are covered at the earliest so that complete and accurate data can be uploaded to the nutrition tracker portal. Special emphasis was also laid on improving ANC services for pregnant women to strengthen maternal healthcare across the district.

Authorities stressed the need for closer coordination between the health department and child development department to ensure timely medical checkups and healthcare services for expecting mothers.

Focus on SAM Children and Nutrition Rehabilitation

The meeting also reviewed the condition of children identified under the Severe Acute Malnutrition category. Officials informed the committee that identified SAM children are being referred to Nutrition Rehabilitation Centres under the referral mechanism and are being monitored regularly for health improvement.

The administration believes that tackling malnutrition requires more than just nutrition supply. Continuous health monitoring, medical supervision, and rehabilitation are equally important for improving the condition of malnourished children. District authorities are therefore strengthening the monitoring mechanism to ensure better outcomes.

Face Authentication to Ensure Transparent Nutrition Distribution

Officials stated that the face recognition process for nutrition distribution at Anganwadi centres has been completed successfully. Under the new system, registered beneficiaries will receive nutrition supplies only through face authentication. The move is expected to improve transparency and ensure that benefits reach genuine beneficiaries.

Instructions were issued to complete the nutrition distribution process within one week of receiving supplies at Anganwadi centres and upload the related data on the nutrition tracker portal. Authorities also clarified that the Hot Cooked Food Scheme is currently not operational in Gautam Buddh Nagar district.

Development Work Accelerates at 83 Saksham Anganwadi Centres

The committee also reviewed the progress of 83 Saksham Anganwadi centres being developed in the district. Officials informed that the Rural Engineering Department has been assigned the responsibility of executing construction and infrastructure development works at these centres.

The department was directed to complete the projects within the stipulated timeline and submit regular progress reports. These upgraded Anganwadi centres are expected to provide improved nutrition, healthcare, and educational support for women and children.

District authorities believe that the development of modern Anganwadi infrastructure will strengthen the implementation of the nutrition mission and improve service delivery at the grassroots level.

Priority Given to Maternity Welfare Scheme Beneficiaries

The progress of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana was also reviewed during the meeting. Officials were instructed to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive benefits without delay. The administration emphasized the need for speedy disposal of pending applications to ensure timely financial assistance to pregnant women.

At the conclusion of the meeting, all Child Development Project Officers were directed to ensure 100 percent data entry related to beneficiaries’ weight measurement and ANC records on the nutrition tracker portal. They were also instructed to prepare and submit a list of logistical shortcomings affecting the measurement process.

The district administration indicated that monitoring of nutrition and maternal welfare schemes will be intensified further in the coming months to improve healthcare and nutrition services for children and women across Gautam Buddh Nagar.
