A two-day MP and MLA Sports Competition will be organized at Noida Stadium on March 7 and 8, bringing together athletes from across Gautam Buddh Nagar district. The event is being conducted under the financial year 2025–26 initiatives of the Sports Department and the Youth Welfare Department.

According to information provided by the District Youth Welfare and Provincial Development Corps Officer of Gautam Buddh Nagar, the competition aims to provide a platform for young athletes and promote sportsmanship among youth in the district.

Athletes from Multiple Age Categories to Participate

The sports competition will be open to participants from three age groups—sub-junior, junior, and senior categories. Both male and female athletes will compete in their respective divisions, ensuring inclusive participation across different age groups and genders.

Officials stated that the event has been planned to encourage greater involvement of young people in sports activities while also identifying talented players who can represent the district at higher levels.

Eight Sports Disciplines Included

A total of eight sports disciplines have been included in the competition. These are:

Athletics

Kabaddi

Wrestling

Volleyball

Competitions in these sports will be conducted across different age categories depending on the availability and participation of players.

Separate Events for MLA and MP Sports Competitions

The schedule of the event has been divided across two days. On March 7, 2026, the MLA Sports Competition will be held, while the MP Sports Competition will take place on March 8, 2026.

Athletes from various parts of Gautam Buddh Nagar district are expected to participate and showcase their sporting skills during the two-day event.

Promoting Sports Culture Among Youth

Officials from the Youth Welfare Department said the competition has been designed to promote a strong sports culture among young people in the district. Through such events, participants not only get the opportunity to compete but also develop discipline, teamwork, and confidence.

The initiative also aims to enhance the physical and mental capabilities of youth by encouraging regular participation in sports and outdoor activities.

Call for Participation

The District Youth Welfare Officer has appealed to players across the district to participate in large numbers and make the event successful. Authorities believe that the competition will serve as an important platform for nurturing sporting talent and strengthening the district’s presence in regional and state-level sports events.
