The Delhi Government has initiated infrastructure works in Rajouri Garden, including water supply, sewer systems, roads, and park beautification under a ₹14 crore project.

30 March 2026, New Delhi.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, infrastructure development in Delhi is being strengthened with renewed focus and investment. In this direction, development works worth approximately ₹14 crore have been launched in the Rajouri Garden Assembly constituency. The projects include reconstruction of drinking water and sewage lines, strengthening of Public Works Department (PWD) roads, and beautification of parks. The inauguration was carried out by Hon’ble Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who also represents the constituency.

Addressing the gathering, Manjinder Singh Sirsa stated that the Delhi Government has allocated ₹32,000 crore as capital expenditure for infrastructure development this year, exceeding last year’s allocation of ₹30,000 crore. He emphasised that this increased investment will bring visible transformation across all parts of the city and improve basic civic amenities for residents.

Highlighting the need for urgent improvements, the Minister said that the government inherited several issues related to contaminated water supply and inadequate sewer infrastructure due to prolonged mismanagement in the past decade. He assured that residents of Delhi would soon receive relief from these long-standing problems as the government accelerates infrastructure upgrades and modernisation.

Focus on Comprehensive Infrastructure Upgradation

The development works in Rajouri Garden are aimed at ensuring reliable water supply, efficient sewer systems, and improved road infrastructure. The reconstruction of water and sewer lines is expected to address leakage, contamination, and drainage issues, while the strengthening of PWD roads will enhance connectivity and road safety. Park beautification projects will further improve the quality of public spaces and provide better recreational facilities for residents.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa expressed gratitude to local residents and Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) for their continued support and cooperation. He stated that the government remains committed to fulfilling its promise of upgrading every road, drain, sewer line, and water pipeline in the constituency.

Large-Scale Investment Across the Constituency

The Minister highlighted that significant financial resources are required for comprehensive development and that the state government is ensuring adequate funding for each assembly constituency. He noted that the current government is allocating over ₹100 crore per constituency for development works, enabling large-scale improvements that go beyond the limitations of traditional MLA funds.

Providing further details, Manjinder Singh Sirsa informed that development works worth approximately ₹175 crore are already underway in the Rajouri Garden constituency within the first year itself. He stated that projects worth nearly ₹175 crore have already been initiated and that the pace of development will continue at a similar scale in the coming period.

Commitment to Complete Road Redevelopment

Reaffirming his commitment to infrastructure improvement, the Minister assured that no road in the constituency would remain unreconstructed during his tenure. He stated that not only major PWD roads but also internal streets, lanes, and back lanes are being redeveloped to ensure uniform infrastructure quality throughout the area.

He emphasised that the objective is to create a modern and well-maintained urban environment where residents have access to safe roads, efficient drainage systems, and reliable water supply.

New Initiatives for Urban Improvement

In addition to core infrastructure works, Manjinder Singh Sirsa announced several new initiatives aimed at improving local amenities and safety. These include the installation of advanced CCTV camera systems across the constituency, deployment of boom barriers, enhancement of street lighting, and other essential civic improvements.

These measures are expected to strengthen public safety, improve traffic management, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents.

Public Participation and Feedback

The Minister also encouraged citizens to actively participate in the development process by sharing feedback and highlighting issues in their respective areas. He stated that residents should inform authorities about any requirements related to roads, drainage, sewer systems, water supply, or lighting so that timely action can be taken.

He assured that the government remains committed to addressing all such concerns and will not leave any gap in delivering essential services and infrastructure improvements.

Conclusion

The launch of ₹14 crore worth of development works in Rajouri Garden marks another step in the Delhi Government’s broader effort to modernise urban infrastructure and improve civic services. With large-scale investments, ongoing projects worth ₹175 crore, and a focus on comprehensive redevelopment, the initiative reflects a commitment to transforming the constituency into a well-planned and efficiently managed urban area.

As highlighted by Manjinder Singh Sirsa, the goal is to ensure that every road, sewer line, and water supply system is modernised, providing long-term relief to residents and setting a benchmark for infrastructure development in the capital.
